From December 27 through 31, our team has put together some extra special fun during the holidays and we invite you to challenge yourself, your family or your friends with a scavenger hunt that will take you all around Deer Valley and has some fun facts along the way. Beyond the scavenger hunt, we’ve lined up a variety of exciting activities! Highlights include the Darn Tough Slopes & Socks Search, where you can uncover and claim one of the coveted pairs, Scenic Snow Cat Rides, a Beacon Demo & Mini Clinic hosted by the Utah Avalanche Center, and the chance to meet the Deer Valley Avalanche Search and Rescue Dogs. DARN TOUGH SLOPES & SOCKS SEARCH
December 27 – December 31 | All Day
Add a dash of excitement to your mountain adventure! Each morning by 8 a.m., the Deer Valley App will reveal fresh clues to help you locate hidden Darn Tough socks placed by our Mountain Hosts. Join the hunt from December 27 through 31 and see if you can claim one of these coveted pairs while supplies last! Download the Deer Valley App, follow the hints, and enjoy the thrill of discovery on the slopes.

SCAVENGER HUNT

CHAIRLIFTS OPEN EARLY
December 27– January 4 | 8 a.m.
From December 27 through January 4, we’re giving you a head start on the day! Our chairlifts will start spinning an hour early, at 8 a.m., to give you more time on the mountain each morning. Join us at Deer Valley and soak up the holiday spirit on the slopes. View the Mountain Report.

COMPLIMENTARY ROSSIGNOL HIGH PERFORMANCE TEST CENTER
December 27 – December 31 | 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
The Rossignol High Performance Test Center, located near the Race Hill Registration Building at the top of the Ottobahn ski run on Bald Mountain, allows guests to demo the latest in Rossignol ski technology.

COMPLIMENTARY MOUNTAIN HOST TOURS
December 27 – December 31 | 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Join our friendly Mountain Hosts for an enchanting ski tour of Deer Valley Resort. Discover our terrain, history, and trivia while finding hidden stashes. Two complimentary tours are offered daily for intermediate skiers, departing from the Mountain Host Hut at the top of Carpenter Express. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Tours leave promptly, so please arrive 15 minutes early. Lift tickets are required. Complete the Mountain Activities Release Form in advance to expedite registration.

SCENIC SNOW CAT RIDES
December 27 – December 31 | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
This holiday season, don't miss the chance to explore the pristine landscapes of Empire Canyon with a scenic ride in our exclusive snowcats. Available daily from December 27 to 31, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., these 10-minute tours offer a unique way to experience the resort. Simply bring a valid lift ticket and meet the snowcats at the base of the Empire Express Chairlift to embark on this enchanting holiday adventure!

NASTAR RACE COURSE
December 27 – December 31 | 11 a.m.
Complimentary races will take place at 11 a.m. on the Dual GS venue, weather and conditions permitting. A great way to access the course is to ride either the Sterling Express or Wasatch Express chairlifts and ski down Birdseye run to the top of Otto Bahn. Our fun, competitive, and easily accessible course allows racers of all ages to compete against each other or themselves in the pursuit of personal records or to improve their skills.

BEACON DEMO & MINI CLINIC
December 27 – 28 | 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.
Join us for an exciting beacon demonstration and mini clinic, hosted by Utah Avalanche Center, at Taig's Meadow. Located at the top of Hidden Treasure Trail, this hands-on event will take place on December 27 and 28, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Whether you're a seasoned backcountry enthusiast or just starting out, you'll learn valuable skills for avalanche safety and how to effectively use a beacon. Don't miss this opportunity to boost your knowledge and enjoy the stunning surroundings.

AVALANCHE SEARCH AND RESCUE DOG MEET & GREET
December 28 at 10:30 a.m. | December 29 at 3 p.m.
Come meet Deer Valley's Avalanche Search and Rescue Dogs! Watch these incredible pups and their handlers in action during a live demonstration. Catch them in the open meadow at the top of Hidden Treasure Trail on December 28 at 10:30 a.m., or meet them at Snow Park Plaza on December 29 at 3 p.m.

APRÈS & ENTERTAINMENT

BEER TRAILERS
December 27 – 31, 2024 | 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Kick back with a local brew and tasty snacks at our Deer Valley Beer Trailers near Silver Lake Lodge and Empire Canyon Lodge. Available December 27 through 31 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., it's the perfect spot to relax and recharge between runs!

LIVE MUSIC & APRÈS
December 27 – 31, 2024 | 2:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Join us for live music and après-ski from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at Edgar’s Après in Snow Park Lodge from December 27 through 31, from 2: 30 to 5:30 p.m. Dive into our après menu and relax with drinks from our full bar. It's the ideal spot to unwind after a day of skiing at Deer Valley Resort.

HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES

MENORAH LIGHTING AND PRAYERS
December 27 – 31 | 5 – 6 p.m.
Join us between 5 and 6 p.m. each evening for a meaningful Menorah lighting and prayers. Starting at Stag Lodge, the celebration continues at the Lodges at Deer Valley, Silver Baron Lodge, Black Diamond Lodge, and Trails End Lodge. This heartwarming tradition will run from December 27 to 31, so come share in the spirit of the season with fellow guests.

TORCHLIGHT PARADE
December 30, 2024 | 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Guests are invited to Deer Valley’s annual Torchlight Parade and a spectacular fireworks display. The parade will begin at approximately 6 p.m. (dusk) on the Big Stick ski run, located on Bald Eagle Mountain behind Snow Park Lodge. A brilliant fireworks show will illuminate the night sky, adding to the festive atmosphere. Complimentary hot chocolate, cider, and cookies will be served on the Snow Park plaza from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

NEW YEAR’S EVE AT THE MARIPOSA
December 31, 2024 | 6 p.m. – 1 a.m.
Celebrate 2025 at The Mariposa with a curated five-course menu featuring the season’s finest ingredients. Indulge in expertly paired wines within Deer Valley’s intimate ambiance for a truly memorable evening. Seating is limited. Reserve Your Table
